Proper Title COO Returns To WGN Radio To Continue Conversation On Deed Fraud

After discussing the growing threat of deed theft and seller impersonation fraud on WGN Radio earlier this summer, Kathy Kwak, COO of Taylor Johnson client Proper Title, returned to “Noon Business Lunch” to continue the conversation. TJ coordinated the follow-up appearance, where host John Williams shared the story of a listener whose vacant Michigan property was nearly sold by someone posing as the owner. The fraud was discovered before closing, providing a real-world example of the schemes Kwak had warned listeners about during her first interview. Kwak explained why vacant land, unoccupied properties and second homes can be attractive targets and outlined how Proper Title works to protect its clients from fraud, from checking property tax records for red flags to using identity-verification technology to confirm ownership. She also discussed how virtual transactions and AI can create additional opportunities for scammers.
